RenovaDF is open for applications until May 13th for 1,500 free professional qualification vacancies. The 240-hour course, taught by Senai-DF, offers remuneration, transportation, and certification for unemployed residents of the Federal District.

The RenovaDF program has begun recruiting 1,500 new students for the professional qualification cycle in Maintenance Assistant in the Federal District. The great differential of this free course is its comprehensive curriculum, which prepares workers to solve various problems in construction and residential repairs. Under the instruction of Senai-DF, participants undergo a 240-hour journey of intense learning, aimed at those who wish to master civil construction techniques in practice.

What will you study in the free course?

Throughout the training, students are not restricted to just one function but acquire skills in multiple areas of work. Disciplines include:

  • Plumbing and Electrical: Fundamental concepts for pipe and wiring repairs;
  • Masonry and Carpentry: Construction techniques with bricks and wooden structures;
  • Locksmithing and Painting: Metal finishing and surface renovation;
  • Gardening: Maintenance and revitalization of green areas.

“Hands-on” Methodology and student support

The learning structure is divided into three stages of 80 hours each. Instead of traditional classrooms, the construction site is the city itself. Students practice what they learn by revitalizing real public spaces, such as squares and sports courts.

To encourage full dedication to studies, the secretary of the department emphasizes that financial aid is a pillar of the project: “Students learn in practice, revitalizing public areas, and for this, they receive a minimum wage per stage.”

In addition to monetary remuneration, the student support package for this free course guarantees:

  1. Personal accident insurance during practical activities;
  1. Free transportation via aid or free pass;
  1. Official certification issued by Senai-DF upon completion;

New participation rules and candidate profile

An important novelty for the 2nd cycle of 2026 is the opening for those who already have previous experience with the project.

The Secretariat of Economic Development, Labor and Income (SEDET-DF) changed the rules to allow former students to re-enroll and deepen their knowledge.

“Before, you could only do RenovaDF once, now this opportunity opens up again,” the department informed.

To secure a spot, interested parties must meet basic requirements aimed at social protection. It is necessary to be over 18 years old, reside in the Federal District, and be unemployed.

The selection does not occur by simple lottery, but rather by a socioeconomic analysis that prioritizes candidates in greater vulnerability, ensuring that the free course reaches those most in need of a new profession.

Deadlines to enroll in the free course

Applications remain open until May 13, 2026, and must be submitted through the official website of the secretariat (www.sedet.df.gov.br).

After the application period, selected candidates should prepare for the start of activities, scheduled to occur between June 15 and 19.

Although the focus is on learning, the program also facilitates entry into the job market after graduation.

SEDET-DF highlights that the project has trained professionals ready to work as autonomous service providers or in companies in the sector:

“RenovaDF has trained professionals for the job market, especially small entrepreneurs, who then work as service providers in the civil construction repair sector.”

For those who wish to follow this path, there is also extra support with itinerant employment agencies and credit lines that can reach R$ 80,000, serving as a final boost for the new career started in the course.
