Industrial technicians will leave the Confea Crea System to the CFT

Industrial technicians will leave the Confea Crea System and will be governed by the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT)

As of September 21, mid-level industrial technicians will be inspected by another Federal body and no longer by the Confea/Crea system. They will be supervised and inspected by the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT) formed on June 22, 2018. The new entity is following a determination governed by the law 13.639, created in March 2018. The “law was sanctioned by the Presidency of the Republic that created the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians and this is the body that will regulate and supervise their professional activity”.

Industrial Technicians

Professionals in the fields of mechanics, metallurgy, chemistry, electricity, civil engineering, surveying, geology and mining are classified as mid-level industrial technicians. Occupational safety technicians are in the so-called special group and remain in the Confea/Crea System. See the full list at CFT website. After September 20th, there will be no more Creas activities for industrial technicians. The records of these professionals will already be under the responsibility of the CFT.

Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT)

Below is the note from the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT). “After several negotiation attempts and because there was no agreement with the CONFEA/CREA System to extend the period of service to technicians, we communicate that the CFT – Federal Council of Industrial Technicians, established by Law No. security on September 13.639, 2018 and awaits a court decision, in order to ensure that professionals are fully assisted without any prejudice to their activities. We also inform you that a program is being developed to generate the TRT – Technical Responsibility Term to replace the ART – Technical Responsibility Note, which will be available from October 19, 2018.
