Ricardo Maciel, global CEO of Tecumseh, highlighted that the choice of Manaus to host the new plant is part of an economic-financial feasibility study aiming to better serve local players in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
“The idea of setting up a factory in Manaus is a continuation of the discussion we had in November here at Suframa. I can anticipate that the planned production capacity is approximately one million compressors in full operation,” Maciel stated.
The new unit reinforces Tecumseh’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and job creation in Brazil. The initiative also represents an important step in strengthening the Manaus Free Trade Zone as a competitive and attractive industrial hub for international investments.
During the event, the deputy superintendent executive of Suframa, Luiz Frederico Aguiar; state deputy Wilker Barreto, president of the Industry, Commerce and Free Trade Zone Commission of the Amazonas Legislative Assembly (Aleam); the managing director of Tecumseh, João Dobner; the director of institutional relations of Tecumseh do Brasil, Homero Busnello; and the commercial director of the Embrapii INDT unit, Marx Santos, were also present.
