Electric Revolution! BYD Launches Electric Van with 250 km Range Made Especially for Latin America

BYD presented to the world, during the IAA Transportation 2024, in Hanover, Germany, the unprecedented BYD E-Vali, an innovative electric van tailored to meet the needs of regions with narrow streets, such as the European market and Latin America.

The global launch of this electric vehicle was one of the major highlights of the event, reinforcing the Chinese brand’s commitment to offering sustainable and efficient solutions for urban transport.

In addition to the E-Vali, BYD also showcased its family of electric trucks and the EYT 2.0 electric tractor for the first time. The company’s focus is on serving commercial fleets that seek low-maintenance alternatives, with vehicles prioritizing practicality and efficiency, directly competing with traditional models such as the Ford Transit and Renault Trafic.

The Electric Van E-Vali

The BYD E-Vali, available in 3.5 and 4.25-ton versions, emerges as a strong competitor for electric vans in the global market, including Brazil.

Using Blade battery technology, the van promises a range of 220 to 250 km (WLTP), powered by an 80.64 kWh battery that can be quickly recharged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. This performance positions it as a direct rival to the Ford E-Transit, which is also available in the Brazilian market.

Visually, the E-Vali features a futuristic design, with an angular front and sharp headlights. The interior, in turn, resembles the brand’s passenger cars, offering a large multimedia screen, connection with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, as well as a digital dashboard. The spacious interior includes various storage compartments and modern functionalities such as wireless charging and voice control.

Another highlight of BYD’s new electric van is the complete set of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The E-Vali features Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and Hill Holder, significantly increasing safety and comfort during driving.

These features make the vehicle an attractive choice for companies seeking safe and practical solutions for their fleets.

Load Capacity and Versatility

In terms of load capacity, the E-Vali impresses with a volume of up to 17,900 liters and a useful capacity of up to 1450 kg. Its rear doors have a wide opening, and the seats are foldable to maximize the interior space.

The van’s height allows drivers to stand inside the vehicle, increasing convenience for handling goods. All of this makes the E-Vali an excellent option for transporting goods in urban environments.

BYD continues to expand its presence in the commercial vehicle sector, with over 110,000 units sold globally by June 2024. This includes 30,000 new energy trucks and specialized vehicles.

The introduction of the E-Vali reinforces the brand’s ambition to stand out in the electric commercial vehicle market, addressing the growing demands for more sustainable and efficient transport.

With the E-Vali, BYD is ready to compete with other industry giants, offering an electric van that combines innovation, safety, versatility, and sufficient range to meet the needs of commercial fleets in urban centers around the world.
