John Deere Unveils New H Series of Forestry Machines with Greater Efficiency, Lower Fuel Consumption, and Advances in Automation and Ergonomics. Learn What Has Changed.
John Deere announced this month the launch of the H Series of forestry machines, including the 1270H and 1470H harvester models and the 2010H and 2510H forwarders.
The new machines enter the global market focusing on increasing productivity and reducing operational costs, thanks to improvements in hydraulic systems, intelligent automation, and more ergonomic design.
According to Mikko Borgstrom, the company’s global product marketing manager, the new series represents “a significant advancement” in performance, precision, and fuel efficiency.

Cutting-Edge Technology for Faster and More Efficient Harvesting
In the harvester models of the John Deere H Series, the highlight is the operation with three dedicated hydraulic pumps, which enhances the performance of the feed rollers, saws, and mechanical arm.

These innovations make work cycles faster and more efficient compared to the old G Series, with a significant reduction in fuel consumption per cubic meter harvested.
Another strong point is the Intelligent Boom Control (IBC 2.0), now standard, which offers smoother movements, reducing operator strain and increasing maneuvering precision.
John Deere Forestry Machines Gain Stability and Reach
The H Series also provides greater stability on uneven terrain. With the Active Frame Lock system, the harvesters maintain their firmness even on slopes, expanding their lateral operating area.
The 2010H and 2510H forwarders impress with a 25% higher load capacity, which reduces the cost per transport cycle.
With F9 and F10 booms, the reach extends to 10.7 meters, allowing for faster operations even in challenging areas.
Increased Comfort and Control in the Operator’s Cabin
The new models feature redesigned cabins, with a larger glazed area and enhanced acoustic insulation.
The rotating cab with automatic leveling, combined with ergonomic controls and programmable joysticks, enhances operator comfort throughout the entire shift.

In addition, the Smart Cabin Key allows each operator to access customized settings automatically.
Digital Solutions Advance with TimberMatic H Automation
The new generation of John Deere forestry machines has also evolved digitally.
The TimberMatic H Automation system has gained a revamped interface, with day and night modes and real-time data integration to facilitate mapping of cutting areas.
These features help to plan and execute work with more agility and precision.
H216 Head Extends Versatility for Different Types of Logs
John Deere also introduced the new H216 head, the successor to the H270 model.
Compatible with the 1270H and 1470H harvesters, it is ideal for operating with both hard and soft wood, being equipped with an upper saw, reinforced motors, and a laser sensor for end detection.
The result is a more precise and reliable cut, with less waste and higher yield.
