The Amazon Airports Concessionaire Began Work on Modernization and Expansion of the Airports in Boa Vista (RR) and Porto Velho (RO). Actemium, in partnership with Teixeira Duarte and Alves Ribeiro S.A of Brazil, will be responsible for the interventions.
The goal is to make operations more efficient and safe, as well as to improve the infrastructure of passenger terminals. The completion of the works is expected in the second half of 2024.
The Boa Vista Airport is located in the region of the triple border between Brazil, Guyana, and Venezuela and serves as an important road access connection for the two neighboring countries. Additionally, it is a significant export point for agricultural products from the state of Roraima. Currently, it is the second-busiest airport in the North Region in terms of passenger numbers.
According to Karen Strougo, CEO of the Amazon Airports Concessionaire, “the new terminal of the Boa Vista Airport will be completely renovated and expanded with five boarding terminals, including an international terminal with shopping and stores. The modern and new structure will make Roraima attract more investors and able to receive international flights. The economic growth of the state is conducive to such a significant investment.”
