The Car That Won the Heart of Many Brazilians, Honda Civic, That Has Been in the Country Since 1992, Will No Longer Be Produced by the Multinational in Brazil and Can Now Only Be Acquired via Importation
The board of the multinational Honda in Brazil had to make the painful decision to stop the production of the Honda Civic, which can now only be purchased through importation when a new generation becomes available abroad in a few months. The decision is due to the high price resulting from taxes and a significant drop in sales volume in the Brazilian market.

This decision was made because the Civic’s main competitor, the Toyota Corolla, has higher sales, even though the sedan sector is losing ground to SUVs. Another reason for the multinational’s decision is the internal competition with the Honda City, which is a slightly smaller sedan but has dimensions similar to the Civic, causing a sales conflict between the two vehicles.
