The G20 as a Key Piece for Sustainable Development
As a preeminent cooperation body, the G20 represents 87% of the global economy. The group is also of utmost relevance to Brazil, as it accounts for about 90% of direct investments received by the country and 92% of our investments abroad. The bloc plays a fundamental role in the economic and financial agendas and in coordinating political issues, as well as adopting initiatives to reduce social inequalities and promote better practices in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
The Role of the B20 in Promoting Sustainable Growth
B20 Brazil is a platform that brings together over a thousand representatives from the private sector of G20 countries to build consensus on strategic areas and identify priorities for governments. The group will encourage partnerships between businesses and governmental organizations, in addition to measures that promote economic expansion and the development of businesses aligned with the motto ‘inclusive growth for a sustainable future.’ Business leaders from the 20 countries will meet on the 29th in Rio de Janeiro to discuss the current situation and global perspectives.
