FGTS Digital Modernizes the Collection of the Guarantee Fund and Allows the Revenue Service and the Ministry of Labor to Cross Data Via Pix in Real Time, Automating Control and Applying Immediate Charges to Companies that Delay the Deposit of the Benefit
The Brazilian government has implemented FGTS Digital, a platform that unifies the collection and inspection of the Guarantee Fund for Time of Service into a 100% electronic system based on Pix. The technology allows for instant collection and automatic data cross-referencing, reducing bureaucracy and increasing the ability to identify companies that do not comply with legal deadlines.
The tool is integrated with eSocial and already replaces outdated systems such as SEFIP and GRRF. With it, the payment confirmation is done almost in real time, and labor inspectors now have immediate access to collection information. The goal is to eliminate delays and reinforce the security of deposits, directly benefiting the worker.
How FGTS Digital Works

The FGTS Digital uses the data sent to eSocial to automatically calculate how much each company must deposit on behalf of its employees.

The next few hours will be marked by increasing tension regarding the stance to be adopted by the Central Bank’s Monetary Policy Committee (Copom/BC) concerning the benchmark interest rate (Selic) at the end of this Wednesday’s (17th) meeting. Although the market is ‘divided’ on the committee’s decision, the stronger trend in recent weeks is that the rate will remain unchanged at the current level of 14.50% per year. Meanwhile, a minority faction still ‘bets’ on a 0.25 percentage point (p.p) decrease.

Guarulhos becomes the “Faria Lima of warehouses” with logistics square meter at R$ 37.11, more expensive than the São Paulo capital, while Shopee, Mercado Livre, Amazon, and billion-dollar funds compete for space near the largest airport in South America.

Amazon plans to invest more than R$ 1 billion to transform the Brazilian airport into a major cargo hub; the agreement with the city hall is expected to be signed by 2026 and could generate around 5,000 jobs.
Based on this information, the platform generates the FGTS Digital Guide (GFD) with a QR Code for payment via Pix, an exclusive and mandatory method for collection since March 2024.
After payment, confirmation is almost instantaneous, and the amount is credited directly to the worker’s linked account.
Automation reduces manual errors, fraud, and delays, creating a traceable collection history accessible to control agencies.
Real-Time Inspection and Data Cross-Referencing
The main differentiator of the system is the automated and integrated inspection.
The FGTS Digital cross-references the amounts paid by companies with the information from eSocial, identifying in seconds any discrepancy between what was declared and what was actually collected.
In case of irregularity, the system issues automatic notification via the Electronic Labor Domicile (DET), allowing the employer to resolve the pending issue.
If the delay persists, administrative collection is opened immediately, speeding up credit recovery and avoiding lengthy manual processes.
Action Against Defaulting Companies
The FGTS Digital was designed to combat companies that delay or do not make the deposits.
When there is default, the platform itself calculates interest and monetary correction owed and provides the updated guide for payment.
If the company ignores the notification, the Labor Audit can start the administrative collection process and, if necessary, forward the debt for registration in active debt.
The goal is to make the inspection process continuous and automatic, reducing the room for tax evasion and noncompliance with labor obligations.
Direct Benefits for the Worker
Although the system is operated by employers, the worker is the main beneficiary.
As deposits are made via Pix, confirmation is practically immediate, and the balance can be checked in the FGTS app right after collection.
In addition, the digital cross-referencing guarantees greater transparency and security, allowing delays to be quickly identified and corrected before causing losses.
The total traceability of transactions strengthens the protection of labor rights and reduces the risk of missed deposits.
Simplification for Companies and Accountants
The FGTS Digital also brings cost reduction and operational simplification for companies.
By replacing outdated systems and centralizing management on a single platform, the monthly collection now has a fixed deadline until the 20th of the following month, without the need to send multiple files.
Accountants and representatives can access the system directly with a digital certificate and make payments in the name of the companies, eliminating redundant steps and ensuring automatic compliance with tax and labor regulations.
