Photovoltaic Solar Energy and Hybrid Plants in Focus
Casa dos Ventos’ most advanced project is the production of hydrogen and green ammonia at the Pecém Industrial Complex in Pernambuco, aimed at the international market. Developed in partnership with Comerc Eficiência, the project will have a capacity of up to 2.4 GW of electrolysis to produce over a thousand tons of hydrogen per day and 2.2 million tons of green ammonia per year. It is expected to start operating in 2026.
According to Araripe, the company is studying projects in the domestic market, primarily targeting the steel and fertilizer sectors.
Global Expansion and Operation in Emerging Markets
The cost of renewable generation in Brazil and the sustainable nature of the electric system position the company competitively on a global scale, expanding its operations to decarbonize other geographies that do not have natural resources at scale, Araripe stated.
Casa dos Ventos has a portfolio of 30 GW of renewable projects under development, which allows for sustained growth in the coming years, driven by the expansion of the free energy market.
Through both energy sales and structured operations, carbon credits, and International REC Standard (I-REC) certificates, as well as as a retail trader, the company is consolidating its role as a pioneer and leader in the renewable energy sector.
