So far this year, Copergás has interconnected nine fuel stations, expanding its network to 86 units. The company’s goal is to reach 100 CNG refueling points in Pernambuco by December, including its first unit in the Sertão do São Francisco, in Petrolina, which is part of the local network project under development in the state.
The expansion of Copergás stations is due to the growth of conversions in vehicles for the use of CNG in Pernambuco. Just in May of this year, the monthly number of conversions for the use of compressed natural gas was the highest in the last 15 years, with 1,140 vehicles switching to CNG.

CNG Has Been The Best Option For Consumers Looking To Save
With the gradual increase in gasoline, diesel, and ethanol prices in recent months, some consumers in Ribeirão Preto (SP), just like in Pernambuco, are turning to compressed natural gas to save money.
According to experts on the subject, gas can reduce costs by up to 50% compared to other fuels. According to Elise Magazoni Moraes, the owner of a workshop, opting out of fuels like gasoline is a switch that only brings advantages for consumers.
Taxi driver Jorge Batista confirms this, having left fossil fuels behind for gas. Batista states that like him, other consumers working in passenger transport have started to use the product and achieved greater profits.
André Campos, president of Copergás, emphasized the competitiveness of the fuel and stated that in any comparative aspect, CNG offers more advantages. In addition to being more economical, the gas is less polluting and much safer.
According to him, Copergás’s goal, under the guidance of Governor Paulo Câmara, is to make compressed natural gas more accessible to Pernambucans in all regions of the state.
