A Scientist from Florida Managed to Create a Fabric Capable of Absorbing Renewable Energy and Transforming It into Solar Energy
The Scientist from the University of Central Florida (UCF), Jayan Thomas, and his team, developed a textile fiber that transforms solar energy into renewable energy. A clothing that stores and generates renewable energy, which does not harm the environment, would be very useful and can be quite handy in daily life.

According to the scientist, the system developed by them has the capacity to store solar energy from the fibers themselves, thus eliminating the need for batteries.
Renewable Energy Suit Developed by the Scientist and His Team Has Innovative Concepts
The fiber developed by the scientist and his team is a copper-based linkage, very thin, lightweight, and flexible. Thus, on one side, the strips contain a solar cell, and while the other side is equipped with layers for solar energy storage, thus generating renewable energy.

Advancement in renewable energy: A R$ 150 million project launched by Petrobras and Finep aims to create state-of-the-art electrolyzers for green hydrogen, strengthening national research and preparing Brazil to compete in a billion-dollar energy market.

Illiterate or semi-literate grandmothers were trained to repair solar systems, open rural workshops, and light up homes that still depended on kerosene.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.

Africa has about 500,000 cell towers and most still burn diesel to operate, while companies rush to cover antennas with solar energy and avoid signal blackouts.
Regarding the tests conducted by the scientist and his team, they used traditional loom machinery in their experiments and showed that the produced filaments could be tied similarly to other types of fabric. Thus, allowing for the direct manufacturing of clothing that can generate renewable energy and store solar energy for individual use.
Scientist Claims Fiber Could Be the Solution for the Military
In an official statement, scientist Jayan Thomas explains that the fiber would have considerable relevance in the manufacturing of military suits. “Some soldiers carry over 13kg of batteries in their suits. A suit like this can capture and store solar energy simultaneously, as long as it is exposed to sunlight.”
This advancement in technology would essentially transform jackets and similar items into solar-powered, wearable batteries, generating renewable energy, thus not needing to be plugged in. This technology could one day revolutionize wearable technology, helping everyone from soldiers carrying heavy battery loads to teenagers addicted to electronics and similar devices.
