Company From Singapore Prepares To Start Selling Curved Solar Panels

The world is focused on increasing the production and use of clean energies, with solar energy gaining even more ground. A company from Singapore, for example, has invested in recent years in the development and production of an even cheaper, easy-to-handle, and efficient solar panel.

The company Maxeon Solar Technologies, based in Singapore, announced that it will sell the Maxeon Air solar panels. The characteristics of the company’s product are much more efficient, frameless, thin, light, and adaptable to surfaces. The product also has a performance equal to any other solar panel.

How The Solar Panel Works

The solar panels from Maxeon Solar work in an innovative way. The company emphasizes that the solar panel can be installed directly on the roof, without the need for anchors or any other tools to keep them fixed. The material is also designed to adapt to irregular roofs.

The material weighs about 6 kg per square meter, which is about half the weight of conventional panels. They are also produced to withstand fire. The company highlights that Maxeon solar panels are quite efficient compared to regular panels. It has an efficiency of 20.9%.

Jeff Waters, an executive of the company, spoke about the product: “Besides all of our team’s innovative development work on the design and materials of the product, this new technology platform is fundamentally enabled by our IBC cell technology. It has superior resistance to corrosion and the ability to bend without harmful cracks to the panels. It has the unique ability to pass current while shaded, continuing to produce energy under conditions that would shut down other panels.”

Solar Energy: Some Questions To Be Answered

The product seems innovative, however, Maxeon has not made it clear how the panels will be replaced in the event of a problem. More details are still lacking on what types of roofs they will be applicable to. Furthermore, the price, which is the most important to consumers, has not been disclosed.

Renewable Energies Will Drive The World In The Coming Decades

The use of renewable energy is expected to increase each year over the coming decades. Countries are working to emit less and less carbon into the atmosphere. Solar energy has a great advantage compared to other renewable sources. Energizing a house with solar energy is much cheaper compared to other sources, such as wind energy.
