What Is So Fascinating About Canada?
Canada is a country located in North America and is the second largest in the world by area. The country shares the longest international border in the world with the United States, measuring nearly 9,000 km. It has one of the lowest population densities in the world, with only 8.6 people, on average, occupying each square kilometer. The majority of its inhabitants live in cities, leaving vast rural areas virtually untouched.
The country embodies diversity in its DNA: it has indigenous origins, was colonized by the French and British, and since its independence, has found strength in immigrants, transforming it into one of the richest nations in the world. With such variety and a strong emphasis on quality of life, it’s no wonder that Canada is among the favorite destinations for Brazilian students, who have the privilege of immersing themselves in the multicultural richness of a country that excels at welcoming people from all over.

After all, we cannot forget that the essence of Canada is immigration. With open doors to the world, Canadian culture has absorbed elements from its Franco-British colonization. Note that both English and French are spoken in Canada. You then have two language options to experience in the country. English is still more widely spoken than French. The accent of those living in Canada who speak English is quite similar to that of Americans, although some rare words may reflect British English.
Although Canada is commonly associated with snow and the wonderful winter sports that this natural feature brings, the country’s temperatures can vary as greatly as its landscapes. The four Canadian seasons are distinct, and while one can enjoy a summer with temperatures up to 35 °C, winter can also be quite harsh – it all depends on the region. One of the loveliest seasons to experience in the country, regardless of the area, is spring. Autumns are a dream for photography lovers: fallen leaves in infinite shades ranging from yellow to brown.
