The Investment Made by Gerdau Will Be Fully Applied to Expansion, New Projects, and the Development of the Company’s Units
The Metalúrgica Gerdau announced this Wednesday, 1, that its board of directors approved investments destined for the company’s annual planning, amounting to R$ 5 billion, according to the Broadcast website.
The Metalúrgica states that of the total amount to be invested, about R$ 830 million will be aimed at increasing forest assets, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and updating and improving environmental controls.
Additionally, approximately 70% of the total investment by the Metalúrgica Gerdau will be directed to the MG region, where the Metalúrgica already operates. According to them, the goal is “to reinforce Gerdau’s commitment to the development of Minas Gerais”.

Gerdau’s Billion-Dollar Investment
According to Metalúrgica Gerdau, the investments will be allocated to capex projects focused on maintenance, expansion, and also technological updates of its units. In other words, the Metalúrgica aims to extend the useful life and improve the operation of its units to maintain adequate performance of the plants.
The company’s investments also aim to increase production and profitability by modernizing its units. Gerdau’s investments are related to the demand the company is experiencing in the market, as well as the criteria required by the market.
