Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative Announces Million-Dollar Investment in Paraná. Cooperative Promises New Factory by 2027 With the Creation of Thousands of Jobs.
On Thursday (6), a well-known company in the agro-industrial sector of Paraná announced the installation of a new soybean crushing factory, generating thousands of jobs. The company responsible for the investment of R$ 750 million for the installation of the unit is Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative, and the project will be built in its industrial park in Maringá, in the Northwest of the State.
New Factory in Paraná Will Be Ready in 2027
Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, the governor of the state, officially announced at the cooperative’s headquarters the inclusion of the new factory of Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative in Paraná Competitivo, a program aimed at tax incentives from the State Government. The estimate is that the plant, which will be built on an area of 70 thousand m², will be completed in 2027, creating thousands of jobs.
The industry with a million-dollar investment will have a processing capacity of 5 thousand tons of soybeans per day, expanding the cooperative’s current processing capacity by 70%, and promises to be one of the largest and most modern soybean crushes in Paraná and Brazil.

According to the governor, this new factory is yet another investment that strengthens the state as the “supermarket” of the world. The new plant of Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative will boost the economic growth of the region, generating jobs and promoting development. Because it has a favorable environment for this type of investment, Paraná is currently one of the fastest-growing states in the country.
During the construction of the new factory in Paraná, which will last approximately two years, 1,500 jobs and hundreds of service-providing companies, most from the Maringá region, will be generated. When its operations begin, it is expected to create around 300 direct jobs.
New Factory Is Part of the Resizing of the Company’s Industrial Park
According to Ratinho Junior, the investment demonstrates the success of the program in Paraná, which has a tax compensation for job creation. It pays off over time and has contributed to Paraná attracting various investments.
Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative is currently in other states and could have chosen any other place to build its new factory; however, the state has developed an excellent environment for large investments, benefiting both companies and the population.
Cocamar is one of the largest cooperatives in the country and one of Brazil’s leaders in the agro-industrial sector. The project for the new factory, which promises to create thousands of jobs, is part of an extensive resizing of the cooperative’s industrial park, which has already completed a static grain storage capacity of 2.7 million tons.
Investment Promises to Expand the Cooperative’s Processing Capacity
With the new factory in Paraná, Cocamar Agroindustrial Cooperative will expand its processing capacity, selling a larger volume of products with higher added value, such as soybean meal, soybean oil, and biodiesel.
The focus is to generate more income for the 20,000 cooperative producers, distributed among 116 operational units located in the states of São Paulo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Mato Grosso, and Goiás.
According to Luiz Lourenço, president of the Board of Directors of Cocamar, the company has seen a significant increase in soybean receipts from its cooperatives, especially in the last five years, reaching an annual total of 2.5 million tons. However, it currently only has the capacity to process about one million tons. Therefore, there was a need to build a new factory, which will eventually add more income to the cooperatives.
