The Project of the Highway at the Port of Santos
According to the São Paulo Secretary of Logistics and Transport, it is anticipated that the construction project for a highway in the Planalto/Baixada Santista axis may include the construction of railroads and highways. The idea is that the new logistics corridor will connect the Rodoanel to the Left Bank of the Port and to the Cônego Domênico Rangoni Highway.
As explained by the government of São Paulo, this work is part of the plan to create a new logistics matrix in the state, to provide a more efficient model for the transportation of goods.

Interested Parties in the Highway Works in São Paulo
According to the definition of the government of the state of São Paulo, interested parties may submit project reports or research through a Private Expression of Interest (PEI) within 30 days. The study must include the technical, economic, and financial feasibility of the new highway, which may or may not include a comprehensive railway network to be used for the transportation of goods, primarily containers, directly shipped to the Port of Santos.
The choice of technology to be suggested is free, and it must meet the operational requirements for vehicle flow in both directions, crossing the Serra do Mar that lies between the Planalto and the Baixada Santista.
