The Italian Government Is Offering Scholarships for Brazilians Seeking Postgraduate Studies. Scholarships in Italy Exceed R$ 50 Thousand (Converting the Currency of the Country).
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation is accepting applications for scholarships for postgraduate courses such as master’s, doctoral, research, higher education in arts, and Italian language and culture courses. Applications can be submitted until June 14.

The duration of scholarships in Italy ranges from six to nine months. The exception is for language and Italian culture courses, which last three months. In all cases, scholarships will be valid starting in November 2024 (and will end by October 2025 at the latest).
Scholarship recipients for language and culture courses will receive a one-time amount of 3,000 euros. Other postgraduate scholarship recipients will receive 9,000 euros, which is approximately R$ 50.7 thousand in direct conversion, in three installments. They will also receive health insurance for their entire stay in Italy.

However, it is worth noting that not all courses exempt scholarship recipients from paying study costs. According to the scholarship program, this should be evaluated based on the desired course. Language and culture courses, however, do not offer exemption from these costs but are, on the other hand, less expensive.

Learn How to Apply for Postgraduate Courses
The first step to apply for scholarships in Italy is to choose your course and apply for it. You can search for universities through the UniversItaly website. Each program has specific admission requirements.
However, in all cases, it is necessary to present the diploma of the previous level of education: undergraduate for postgraduate, completion of a master’s for doctoral programs, among others. You will also be required to provide proof of proficiency in English or Italian.
For all courses, it is necessary to prove a B2 level or higher in proficiency, according to the Common European Framework of Reference. The exception is for language and culture courses, for which it is sufficient to prove an A2 level of proficiency in Italian. There are also age restrictions for some programs.
Candidates for master’s courses, higher education in arts, and language and culture courses must be a maximum of 28 years old.
For doctoral courses, the maximum age is 30 years. For research programs, the maximum age is 40 years. Subject to these restrictions, candidates can apply for the scholarships in Italy until June 14.
