The Company Announced Another Initiative to Boost the Electricity Grid Infrastructure of Morro de São Paulo. The Goal is to Add a New Submarine Power Line of More Than 4.5 Kilometers by the End of the Network Works, Highlights Neoenergia Coelba.
Aiming to expand energy security in Morro de São Paulo, one of the most important tourist spots in the state of Bahia, Neoenergia Coelba has a new initiative. The company plans to add a new distribution line to the local electricity network, with more than 4.5 kilometers. This way, there will be an even more adequate infrastructure to meet the needs of the tourist spot.
Neoenergia Coelba Invests in the Electricity Grid Infrastructure of Morro de São Paulo and Guarantees More Security in Energy Distribution at the Bahia Tourist Spot
With more than half of the underground network construction plan completed, Neoenergia Coelba announced another initiative for the electricity grid of Morro de São Paulo.
The location is one of the most visited tourist spots in all of Bahia, attracting tourists from around the world. Thus, it is essential to ensure good energy security in the energy distribution at the site.

While hydroelectric plants lose capacity due to evaporation caused by heat in the reservoirs, the Philippines are installing floating solar panels on the plants’ own lakes, generating energy, reducing evaporation by up to 70%, and cooling the panels to increase electrical efficiency at the same time.

Dongfang breaks world record and manufactures 26 MW wind turbine in China with 137-meter blades that spin so slowly they appear stationary on the horizon.
Thinking about this, Coelba announced the implementation of another underwater distribution line in the area.
The new line will have 4.5 kilometers of cables from the mainland to Morro and will be accompanied by the delivery of a new transmission line and a power substation with 12.5 megavoltamperes (MVA) of power, which will be installed near the Bom Jardim Dock in the municipality of Valença.
Neoenergia is thus investing in the energy security of the electricity grid of Morro de São Paulo, which will have another alternative to meet the demand of more than 4,000 residents and daily visitors.
The improvement works on the electricity grid infrastructure of the Bahia tourist spot are over a year ahead of schedule and already have the second phase underway.
By the end of Neoenergia Coelba’s construction project, there will be more than 1.6 kilometers of network extension, with nine transformers of 500 kilovolt-amperes (KVA).
As a result, Morro de São Paulo will no longer have overhead wiring, ensuring not only more energy security but also greater robustness to the landscape.
28 Energy Posts in Morro de São Paulo Have Already Been Deactivated in the Company’s Underground Construction Plan for the Electricity Grid
So far, Neoenergia Coelba’s construction plan for the underground electricity grid of the Bahia tourist spot has already deactivated 28 energy posts.
Additionally, the year 2022 marked the delivery of major works for the local system, including the new feeder in Maraú, which directly serves the Village and the Santo Antônio de Jesus — Valença Transmission Line, with 69 Kilovolt-amper (KV).
“Morro de São Paulo is an example of Neoenergia Coelba’s efforts to provide modern, sustainable, and safe energy,” highlighted Antonio Ciarlini, president of Neoenergia Coelba.
He stated that the investments in an underground electricity network guarantee more energy security and quality of life for the residents.
This is also a way to foster the attraction of tourists to the region, thus boosting the economy and promoting greater socioeconomic development in Bahia.
The works on Neoenergia Coelba’s electricity grid in Morro de São Paulo are expected to continue at an accelerated pace over the next few months.
