According to Rogério Mascarenhas, Secretary of Digital Government, the initiative helps to strengthen a culture of technological innovation allied with ethical responsibility in the use of AI.
In practice, participants will learn how to identify administrative problems and create digital solutions capable of optimizing internal tasks and improving citizen service.
Among the main objectives of the training are:
- Automate bureaucratic processes;
- Improve analysis of government data;
- Increase administrative efficiency;
- Encourage digital innovation in the public sector;
- Strengthen technological governance.
Free AI course will have 155 hours of specialized content
The free course was structured for public servants who wish to lead digital transformation projects or work directly in technological innovation initiatives within the government.
The training brings together technical, strategic, and practical content on artificial intelligence and intelligent automation. The program also addresses concepts of digital governance, ethics, and responsible use of public data.
The modules include topics such as:
- Fundamentals of artificial intelligence;
- Process automation;
- Predictive analysis;

The proposal is to offer comprehensive training for professionals who need to deal with new technologies within public administration.
Moreover, the online format allows for greater national reach, facilitating access for public servants from different regions of Brazil.
New free training reinforces the federal government’s digital strategy
The creation of the new free training is also linked to the goals of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Plan, launched to expand the strategic use of AI in various areas of the economy and the public sector.
In recent years, federal agencies have accelerated digitalization processes. Services that were once in-person have migrated to digital platforms, reducing queues and increasing convenience for the population.
Now, artificial intelligence appears as a new stage of this transformation.
According to government information, the expectation is to expand the technical capacity of public servants to develop more efficient, transparent, and sustainable digital solutions.
The partnership between MGI, ENAP, and Serpro also reinforces the integration between public management and technological innovation, something considered essential to keep up with the rapid global digital evolution.
Artificial intelligence gains ground in Brazilian public administration
The use of artificial intelligence in the public sector is already a reality in different countries. Governments use automated systems for data analysis, pattern identification, and improvement of digital services.
In Brazil, this movement is beginning to gain more strength with training programs and technological modernization.
AI tools can help public agencies in areas such as:
- Automated digital service;
- Document management;
- Information processing;
- Demand forecasting;
- Fraud prevention;
- Optimization of internal services.
Experts point out that intelligent technologies can reduce service time and increase productivity in different sectors of public administration.
According to studies by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), governments that invest in digital transformation can improve operational efficiency and enhance the quality of services offered to the population.
Free course addresses ethics, governance, and responsible use of AI
In addition to the technical part, the free course also dedicates significant space to debates on ethics and digital governance. This topic has gained worldwide relevance due to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence.
The concern mainly involves transparency, privacy, and security in the use of public data.
During the training, participants will engage in discussions related to:
- Digital responsibility;
- Algorithmic transparency;
- Data protection;
- Information security;
- Technological governance;
- Ethical use of AI.
The federal government considers this debate essential to ensure that new technologies are used safely and in alignment with public administration rules.
The training also aims to prepare public servants to deal with future challenges related to the regulation of artificial intelligence in Brazil.
Government wants to expand digital transformation in public services
Digital transformation is no longer just a trend and has become a strategic role within modern public management. The advancement of digital platforms has changed the relationship between government and population in recent years.
With the arrival of artificial intelligence, the expectation is to accelerate this modernization even further.
The new free training aims precisely to prepare professionals capable of applying technological solutions in the daily routine of public bodies. This includes everything from automating simple tasks to advanced analysis of government data.
According to Rogério Mascarenhas, the focus is to transform technology into a tool capable of increasing productivity and improving public services offered to citizens.
Investment in professional qualification is also seen as an important step to keep up with changes in the labor market and the global advancement of the digital economy.
AI training can change the future of public service in Brazil
The creation of this new free training shows that the Brazilian government intends to expand the use of artificial intelligence as a strategic tool for innovation and administrative efficiency.
With 155 hours of training, the program brings together technical knowledge, data analysis, intelligent automation, and digital governance in a single training track.
The initiative led by MGI, ENAP, and Serpro reinforces the importance of professional qualification in an increasingly technological scenario. At the same time, the free course helps prepare public servants for a reality where AI will play a central role in the modernization of Brazilian public services.
In the coming years, professionals trained in artificial intelligence are expected to become key players in accelerating the digital transformation of the State and improving the population’s experience with government services.
