Change in Presidency Reinforces Institutional Continuity, Corporate Governance, and Sustainable Growth Strategy of Norsul in the Cabotage and Integrated Logistics Sector.

In line with its strategy of renewal with institutional continuity, Norsul, one of the largest cabotage companies in Brazil, announced a significant change in its executive leadership. Starting on January 2, 2026, Rodrigo Cuesta will take on the role of CEO, succeeding Angelo Baroncini, who will become the chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.

Initially, the decision arises from a structured and planned succession process over the past few years. Thus, the company reinforces its commitment to corporate governance, transparency, operational safety, and sustainable growth, maintaining strategic coherence in the navigation and integrated logistics sector.

At the same time, the transition preserves Norsul’s institutional values, such as care for people, operational efficiency, and organizational culture. In this way, the company maintains focus on responsible, long-term decisions, according to the company itself.

36-Year Legacy Marks the End of Angelo Baroncini’s Cycle

Throughout 13 years as CEO, and after 36 years of work with the company, Angelo Baroncini ends his executive cycle leaving a solid legacy. During this period, Norsul strengthened its position as a national reference in cabotage, modernized operations, and raised safety and sustainability standards.

Moreover, under his leadership, the company actively participated in strategic discussions that influenced Brazilian navigation, always guided by ethics, integrity, and long-term relationships. According to the executive himself, Norsul is made up of committed individuals guided by solid values.

“Rodrigo knows the business, the clients, and the dynamics of the sector deeply”, stated Angelo Baroncini, emphasizing confidence in the new leadership. According to him, the succession was planned to ensure balance, competence, and a forward-thinking vision, as per Norsul’s institutional statement.

Rodrigo Cuesta Takes Over with Strategic Background and Continuity Vision

On the other hand, Rodrigo Cuesta, who has been with Norsul for 11 years, arrives at the presidency after holding the position of Chief Financial Officer and New Business Director. During this time, he played a central role in relevant strategic decisions that expanded the portfolio and strengthened the company’s presence in the market.

Among the milestones of his tenure is the creation of Norcoast in 2024, a joint venture between Norsul and Hapag-Lloyd, a direct result of the company’s diversification strategy. Additionally, Rodrigo also led the acquisition of the cabotage operations of Hidrovias do Brasil, a move that brought the company even closer to clients and operations.

“The transition was built with care and planning”, stated Rodrigo Cuesta, according to Norsul’s announcement. As he highlighted, his commitment is to continue the work being done, while accelerating strategic initiatives and enhancing value generation for clients, partners, and the sector.

Strategic Continuity Reinforces Governance and Long-Term Vision

Finally, the change in presidency reaffirms Norsul’s commitment to transparent governance, lasting relationships, and strategic vision. The company will continue to invest consistently in operational efficiency, new logistical solutions, innovation, sustainability, and people development.

Thus, starting in 2026, Norsul consolidates a transition that combines experience, renewal, and stability, maintaining alignment with the best practices in the navigation sector, according to institutional information released by the company itself.
