The Delegation Also Visited Carbon Dioxide Capture Projects and Renewable Hydrogen Plant; Concluding Its Mission in the Nordic Countries.
This Monday (20), Claudio Romeo Schlosser, Executive Director of Logistics, Commercialization, and Markets at Petrobras, along with his delegation, visited the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands to explore business possibilities. During the visit, they were able to see the ammonia production facilities, as well as projects focused on carbon dioxide (CO2) capture and the construction of the largest renewable hydrogen plant on the continent. This visit represents an important step for Petrobras to expand its operations and international partnerships in the energy and sustainability sector.
Director Schlosser emphasized the importance of the agenda that provided an exchange of experiences between countries, not only in logistics but also in sustainable solutions for an energy transition. During the visit, they were able to learn about the Porthos project, a partnership between the Port of Rotterdam, Gasunie, and EBN, which aims to collect carbon dioxide from local industries and transport it to storage locations in the North Sea. Porthos is considered the most advanced CO2 capture center in Europe, utilizing technology and innovation to promote sustainability.
Technical Visit to the Holland Hydrogen 1 Plant – Shell
One of the companies visited during the technical mission was the Holland Hydrogen 1 plant, operated by Shell, which is still under construction. The facilities will house the first large-scale renewable hydrogen plant in continental Europe, with a capacity of 200 megawatts and a production of up to 60,000 kilograms of renewable hydrogen per day. The plant will be powered by offshore wind energy from the North Sea, and it is expected to be completed by the second half of this decade.
