“By the end of this year we will have a company and we will go to the market next year to find an investor partner, possibly via the capital market for this private company to be responsible for the operation of the offshore gas pipelines”, Anelise emphasized.
Currently, Petrobras operates Route 1, which connects the Lula field, via the Mexilhão field, to the Gas Processing Unit (UPGN) in Caraguatatuba, São Paulo.
And Route 2, which transports production from Lula and other fields to Cabiúnas, in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro. Route 3 is still under construction and will transport gas from the Búzios field and other fields to the UPGN of Comperj, which is also under construction.
According to Petrobras’ director, with the three routes in operation, about 48 million cubic meters per day of natural gas will be transported through this network.
The director explained that there is already an agreement between Petrobras and the other companies that explore and produce oil in the pre-salt fields, which are Shell, Galp, and Repsol, called the Integrated Drainage System (SIE), which facilitates the use of these pipelines by the four oil companies.
