Renault Revives The Small Twingo. The Subcompact, A Sales Success In Brazil, Will Now Be Electric, With 4 Doors And The Same Charm As Years Ago.

Renault is launching a new electric version of the classic subcompact Twingo, which was sold in Brazil from 1994 to 2003. The model, named Twingo E-Tech, retains the identity of the original hatch, but features modern updates, such as LED light signature, new door handles, and four doors instead of two.

The Twingo E-Tech is expected to hit the European market in 2025 and is part of Renault’s strategy to make electric vehicles more accessible. The automaker has not yet released details about the powertrain and battery capacity, but promises that the car will be the most efficient in the segment, with a consumption of 10 kWh per kilometer traveled.

As for the price, it is speculated that the Twingo E-Tech will be part of a ‘democratization’ package for the industry announced by Renault, with estimated values around 20 thousand euros (R$ 106.7 thousand in conversion).
