WHO points out main factors associated with cancer
The study conducted by the World Health Organization sought to map the relationship between cancer and modifiable lifestyle factors.
According to the data presented, smoking remains the main contributor to the global burden of the disease, representing 15.1% of the cases analyzed.
In addition, infections come right after, contributing 10.2% of the cancer burden observed in the survey.
Alcohol consumption holds another prominent position, being responsible for 3.2% of the cases.
