The largest executive jet in Brazil owned by the Safra family is for sale. Know details of the aircraft, luxury, and context of the family’s billionaire negotiation.
The largest executive jet in Brazil, owned by the Safra family since 2004, is officially for sale. The aircraft, a 2002 Boeing BBJ, features 80 m² of internal space, a master suite, an office, and capacity for 18 passengers. The sale announcement comes after the resolution of billionaire family disputes involving the heirs of banker Joseph Safra.
The jet remains discreetly parked most of the time in an exclusive hangar near the São Paulo Air Base at Guarulhos Airport. Identified only by the registration PR-BBS, it primarily operates night flights to Switzerland, the residence of Vicky Safra, the family matriarch. With a range of 11,500 km, the aircraft allows direct routes between São Paulo and the European country without the need for stops.

Although the market is ‘divided’ on the committee’s decision, the stronger trend in recent weeks is that the rate will remain unchanged at the current level of 14.50% per year. Meanwhile, a minority faction still ‘bets’ on a 0.25 percentage point (p.p) decrease.

Context of the sale
The decision to put the largest executive jet in Brazil up for sale comes after years of disputes within the billionaire family.
Among the most tense episodes, Alberto Safra even sued his own mother and siblings in New York, claiming improper dilution of his stake in the Safra National Bank of New York.
In 2025, five years after the patriarch’s death, the agreement regarding the billionaire inheritance was finally consolidated.
Financial reorganization of the heirs
With the outcome, Esther Safra sold her stake in the bank to her brothers. Alberto Safra left the credit sector of the family institution and founded Asa, his own financial company.
In August 2025, Asa received a license from the Central Bank to operate as a Credit, Financing, and Investment Company (SCFI), ensuring access to products such as CDBs, LCIs, LCAs, and CRIs.
The sale of the jet marks not only a change in assets but also the end of an era of secrecy and disputes in the Safra family, consolidating a new phase of operation and visibility for the Brazilian elite in the aviation market.
