The Investments in Wind Energy Purchase and Quotas for the São Mizael Wind Park Project Should Represent R$ 40 Million in Investments and Will Be a Major Contribution to Brazil’s Carbon Consumption.
The Brazilian multinational and one-stop-shop technology TIVIT now sources 100% of its energy consumed in the country from wind generation, a clean energy source that contributes to carbon consumption, marking the start of a new operation at its São Mizael Wind Park project.

Europe has never produced so much clean energy at the start of a year — 384.9 TWh of renewables in the first quarter of 2026 broke all records, and fossil generation fell to its lowest level.

For the first time in history, solar and wind energy supplied more electricity than all global demand growth — and fossil generation fell to its lowest level in 100 years.

Climate change should be combated by solar and wind energy — but extreme heat reduces the efficiency of panels, violent winds shut down the turbines, and extreme rainfall floods entire power plants.
For TIVIT, neutralizing its carbon consumption impact is an important step, which is why it sees wind energy use as beneficial for the environment. The goal is to produce 100% clean energy in volume, which would be enough to cover the energy consumption from traditional sources in its operations by the end of 2021.
Additionally, excess energy is directed to the National Electric System, as the wind energy production of the park exceeds the volume consumed in the company’s operations, contributing to neutralizing Brazil’s carbon consumption.
According to TIVIT’s CFO, Mr. Paulo Freitas, “TIVIT is aware and committed to reducing its carbon footprint amid increasingly urgent environmental and sustainability issues.” He adds, “We are making the necessary investments to meet our energy consumption through one of the largest wind projects in the world. We hope that through this action, we can continue to positively impact society by encouraging clean energy self-generation in a country that has 75% of its energy generated by hydropower and is facing challenging times,” the executive concludes.
The project built by Casa dos Ventos, a company that develops wind projects in Brazil, in partnership with Vulcabrás, is located in an area with some of the best wind conditions in the country. Starting in 2022, it is expected to generate approximately 1,200 jobs, in addition to a generation capacity of 504 megawatts. The forecast for the start of commercial operations is for the second half of next year.
