UFMA opens this Tuesday (06), through Sisu more than 2.000 vacancies for free courses
The Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA) published early this Tuesday (06), the opening of vacancies for free courses at higher undergraduate levels through the Unified Selection System (Sisu) 2021. semester that started this Tuesday (06) will go until Friday (09), and must be carried out through the website of the Info. For this selection, UFMA is offering 2.493 vacancies, distributed among 62 free courses on the Bacabal, Chapadinha, Imperatriz, Pinheiro and São Luís campuses.

It is worth mentioning that, if not selected, the candidate for the free UFMA courses who intends to continue competing in Sisu 2021.1 must, by obligation, express their interest in participating in the Sisu Waiting List and, soon after, confirm their interest in the vacancy in the website of UFMA.
Application process for free courses at UFMA
To compete for such vacancies in the first call of UFMA, the candidate must exclusively use the results obtained in the 2020 National High School Examination (Enem) at the time of registration.

Candidates must apply for up to two vacancies and specify their order of preference. He will be able to choose to compete for open competition vacancies or those reserved for affirmative action policies, the quotas. However, enrollment in more than one competition modality at the same institution is not allowed.
UFMA is still offering the Wide competition category with a 20% bonus on the grade for all those students who have attended the 9o year of elementary school and three years of high school in public schools in Maranhão.
It is worth remembering that the student will not be able to compete for the vacancies reserved in Law 12.711/2012 and also request the bonus of the 20% increase, since the MEC resolution does not accept the accumulation of affirmative policies.
Candidates called for pre-registration must present the basic and specific documentation (according to each category) in the UFMA system, between April 15th and 19th.

The University, for the first time, will be offering 40 places to the Literature Course – Libras, on the Campus of São Luís. The candidate, to compete for such vacancies, needs to select this option when registering.
In this edition, the Federal University of Maranhão will only use the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CaDÚnico) to analyze and prove the income of candidates who choose the option to compete for vacancies in the low-income subcategories. It is necessary for competitors to look for the Social Assistance Reference Center (Cras) to enroll or update the cadastral in CadÚnico.
