Atlantic Nickel Mining Company Recently Discovered in the Municipality of Itágiba, Interior of Bahia State, an Area with Sulfide Nickel
The mining company discovered a new area with significant potential for sulfide nickel exploration, in the same geological belt where the Santa Rita Mine already operates.
The proximity of this new area to the existing infrastructure, along with the feasibility of logistical integration, indicates the success of the expansion studies.
According to João Leão, Secretary of Economic Development, “Since the Santa Rita mine resumed operations in January 2020, Itagibá has remained in the ranking of the top 10 municipalities with the highest revenue from the Financial Compensation for Mineral Exploration (CFEM) in Bahia. It is worth noting that 60% of the fee is allocated to the city where production occurred. This discovery will further boost employment and income in the region.”
About Atlantic Nickel Mining Company
Atlantic Nickel has been operating since 2009 in the activities of exploration, mining, processing, and marketing of nickel concentrate. The sulfide nickel produced, after undergoing a refining process, is the main component in the manufacture of batteries that equip the growing electric vehicle market.
