Undue Deductions in Pensions and Benefits Affect More Than One Million Brazilians, Reveals INSS Audit.
The INSS audit brought to light a concerning reality: more than one million retirees and pensioners had undue deductions applied directly to their benefits, without any authorization. The discovery generated outrage among the affected elderly, many of whom were victims of charges they were unaware of.
An emblematic example is Francisco Hércules Marques, who had R$ 154 deducted throughout 2024 in installments meant for an association supporting retirees. The detail? He never requested the services or authorized the charges.
Alarming Pattern Exposed by the INSS Audit
A similar situation is experienced by Walter Andrade, who discovered he had been paying R$ 70 monthly since 2023 to an unknown entity. Both cases are part of an alarming pattern exposed by the INSS audit.

With the increase in irregularities revealed by the INSS audit, beneficiaries can follow a simple step-by-step process to protect their rights:
On the home page of the INSS portal, click on “New Request”.
Look for the option “Exclude Fee”.
Select “Exclude Association or Union Fee from Benefit”.
Click “Update” and then “Next”.
Attach the requested documents and continue.
Choose the INSS agency of your preference and check the provided information.
Tick the option “I declare that I have read and agree with the information above” and complete the process.
With measures like these and monitoring by the INSS audit, it is hoped that beneficiaries will have greater security in their rights and will manage to recover amounts improperly charged.
