Similarly, in January, the Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro, Wilson Witzel, delivered the Preliminary Environmental License to the Macaé Port Terminal. He ensured the installation of the port, which is expected to generate 7 thousand jobs in three years. According to TEPOR consultant, José Eduardo Carramenha, the first phase of construction will generate 2 thousand jobs.
2 Thousand Jobs in Civil and Industrial Construction
The first jobs will be in the civil and industrial construction areas, including helper, bricklayer, construction foreman, carpenter, scaffolder, building technician, safety technician, welding inspector, welder, electrician, automation technician, and others.
Furthermore, the TEPOR project consists of seven blocks, including gas, oil, maritime petroleum, transportation, and three waste areas. Another important forecast is that the market will also be supplemented by the installation of 14 thermal power plants, with eight already having environmental licenses granted and one under construction on RJ-168.
Thus, after the works, a large portion of the workforce will be absorbed by companies, which will also offer international training.
