The Terminal Should Handle About 1.1 Million Tons of General Cargo and Liquid Bulk, 475 Thousand Vehicles, and 19.2 Million Tons of Containerized Cargo Annually.
The Terminal Will Also Feature an Official Navy Base for Brazil’s Strategic Defense and for the Protection of the Abrolhos Marine National Park.
Senator Marcos Val Believes That the Installation of the Port in the North of the State Will Be Fundamental for the Economic Development of the Region. “This is a Long-Standing Struggle I Took Up from the Beginning of My Term. Reaping the Fruits of This Battle Is Gratifying,” Says the Legislator.
According to José Roberto Barbosa, President of the Petrocity Group, the São Mateus Port Complex Will Be the First Private Investment Recovery Project in Brazil After the Coronavirus. “It’s the Great Project, a Huge Logistics Platform,” Says the President.
José Roberto Also Emphasized Senator Marcos do Val’s Role in Making the Project Viable. “I Would Like the Entire State and the North of Espírito Santo, Especially, to Know: Who Is Effectively, Politically and Institutionally, Driving This in Brasília, the Clearance of This Project, Is You,” He Declared.
Despite the Authorization, the Port Is Still Far from Becoming Reality. Not Even the Environmental Licenses Have Been Approved.
