Alexandre Silveira stated that he sees a “real possibility” of reducing diesel prices by 32 to 42 cents per liter, and gasoline by 10 to 12 cents per liter.

The president of the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP), Alexandre Silveira, demanded today in an interview with the press that a new adjustment in fuel prices be made. He stated that the reduction is essential to achieve the inflation target.

According to him, due to the drop in the price of Brent oil, it would be possible to make a reduction of up to R$ 0.42 per liter of diesel and R$ 0.12 per liter of gasoline.

For the Ministry of Mines and Energy, this reduction would not be harmful to Petrobras nor to the price it proposed to maintain.
