For the author, privatizing the company does not reflect good management. Nuclep is responsible for designing and manufacturing equipment for the oil and gas and electric energy sectors, as well as nuclear energy.

“The fundamental importance of Nuclep was emphasized by its role in the Submarine Development Program (Prosub),” said the author, Deputy André Figueiredo (PDT-CE). “Privatizing the company does not reflect good management,” he continued.

PROSUB delegation visits NUCLEP to monitor the development project of the prototype reactor of the first Brazilian nuclear submarine

The project is called LABGENE (Nuclear Energy Generation Laboratory) and was designed as a prototype, on land and at full scale, of the propulsion systems that will be installed in the submarine.

The reactor is currently in the process of manufacturing, assembly, and supply of the vessel (cylinder) and internal containment structures, as well as the primary shielding tank.
