The Petrobras refinery – Replan, reached the mark of 148 thousand m³ in June. This number is 20% higher than the previous record registered in May, which was 123 m³.
According to the Petrobras report, since the beginning of 2020, all fuel for ships sold in Brazil and in more than 170 countries must have a sulfur content of 0,5%, in accordance with the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (Marpol). In advance of this process, the state sells the product since last year.
In the first five months of this year, Replan was responsible for 12% of the entire bunker produced by Petrobras.
“The entire Bunker produced by the Replan refinery in Paulínia is transported by pipelines to the Barueri Terminal, where it is stored to be sent, also by pipelines, to the Port of Santos”, says Petrobras.
The month of June was also marked by the resumption of operations at a distillation unit (U-200A) and a catalytic cracking unit (U-220), to meet the increased market demand for derivatives.
With the return of these units, the refinery has the capacity to process 69 thousand m³ (million liters) of oil per day, the largest in Petrobras' refining park.
About the Petrobras Replan refinery
Replan's production corresponds to approximately 20% of all oil refining in Brazil, processing almost all of its national oil, much of it coming from the Santos Basin (pre-salt).
The Paulínia Refinery started operating on February 2, 1972, three months before its inauguration. About 20 cubic meters of oil per day (126 barrels) were processed at that time.
