High-Performance Tugboats
The Sulnorte project includes the construction of two tugboats, which will be 23 meters long. The feature that sets these vessels apart is their static towing capacity, which will reach 75 tons of BP (Brake Power). This specification demonstrates the company’s commitment to producing high-performance vessels ready to face maritime challenges with efficiency and safety.
Banco do Nordeste has a 70-year history as one of the main supporters of projects in the Northeast Region of Brazil. On the other hand, Sulnorte is a respected figure in the tugboat scene in Brazil, recently celebrating 45 years of operation in the market. The union of these two players through a financing contract establishes the foundations for the realization of the two new tugboats.
Through this collaboration, Sulnorte reinforces its commitment to innovation and the development of the shipbuilding industry in the country. The local production of the tugboats not only generates jobs and boosts the economy but also contributes to the modernization and growth of the sector.
The upcoming launch of the tender for selecting the shipyard that will oversee the construction of the vessels marks yet another solid step in the journey of the Brazilian shipbuilding industry toward a future of opportunities and technological advancements.
