Ambev's investment in the Ponta Grossa brewery, in Paraná, will amount to R$ 370 million. The contribution will be to increase the production of pure malt beers and a new bottling line, with the objective of supplying the South and Southeast regions of the country.

A further R$ 15 million will be allocated to Ambev for the expansion of the soft drink factory installed in Almirante Tamandaré, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba.

“Paraná is extremely important for Ambev. Our Ponta Grossa unit is responsible for supplying strategic markets in the South and Southeast and this investment reinforces our commitment to the State, expanding our production capacity and preparing us for the future”, stated Melo.

For Ratinho Junior, Ambev has believed in Paraná for years and this new investment is a great achievement. ′′ We received with enthusiasm, it arrives at a symbolic moment, of resumption of the economy and the beginning of immunization across the country.

Paraná has the most modern Ambev brewery in Brazil

The Ponta Grossa unit is Ambev's most modern in Brazil, with industry 4.0 technologies. The factory produces beers such as Brahma Duplo Malte, Serramalte, Original and Budweiser, among others. The increased production capacity meets the growing demand from Brazilian consumers for pure malt and premium beers.

In the last decade, Ambev invested more than R$ 1,2 billion in the Ponta Grossa unit. In addition, the company also owns a brewery, a soft drink factory, six direct distribution centers and generates more than 17 direct, indirect and induced jobs.

The new investment accompanies the growth of the beverage production sector in the state even during the coronavirus pandemic. According to data from the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), the sector increased by 5,2% between January and December 2020 compared to the same period in 2019.

In addition, it is worth noting that Paraná accumulates seven consecutive months with growth in the industry after April.
