The BMW Group Sustainability Award Recognized the Work of the Osten Group Focused on Environmental Preservation and Various Other Socio-Environmental Efforts Carried Out by the Company
The Osten Group, one of the most important premium automotive groups in the country, won the title of national champion of the Sustainability Award. This is an award organized by the BMW Group to recognize the best sustainable practices implemented by the brand’s dealer partners in different countries.
The socio-environmental factors, as well as the governance actions in sustainability and ESG, were previously evaluated, and the award was presented to the Osten Group at a conference held in the United States.
Among the general criteria considered for the evaluation are visible and accurate communication regarding sustainability. Original and innovative ideas to make vehicle retail more sustainable, employee training, and support for the well-being of employees, the community, and the population as a whole are also evaluated.

“A little over a year ago, we intensified our actions focused on social and environmental aspects, and it is very rewarding to see the work of the entire team being recognized. One of the pillars of our values is continuous improvement, and this recognition motivates us even more to continue on this path,” explained Jorge Yamaniski Neto, director responsible for the Osten Group.
The Osten Group has been investing in various programs aimed at monitoring and reducing negative impacts on the environment.
Some of these projects include a circular economy, measures to improve operations, structure, and incentives for electrification. Among them are initiatives such as the installation of solar power plants and the use of natural lighting.
The Osten Group Works with a Reverse Logistics Policy for Maximum Waste Reuse
At the company, there is a reverse logistics policy aimed at maximizing the reuse of waste, such as used oil for refining, batteries, and tires for recycling. The Osten Group also employs a practice aimed at capturing rainwater for reuse and conscious consumption.
The Osten Group also maintains a relationship with the Inovar Sustentável Institute for the use of recycled materials from uniforms in the production of new products. These products include thermal bags, shopping bags, and a variety of other items.
On the social front, it offers internal programs for talent management and diversity, training employees in various areas and carrying out charitable actions with underprivileged institutions.
Electrification is also part of the Osten Group’s scope of action. The company recently completed the installation of 15 free charging points for electric vehicles in the regions of São Paulo, Baixada Santista, and Vale do Paraíba. The organization aims to have 25 points installed by the end of 2022.
