Whoever hasn’t yet visited the SESI Lab is missing the opportunity to experience a multifunctional space with free entry, featuring the SESI Lab tunnel, cultural programs, SESI Lab, and concept store. With a holiday schedule full of attractions for all ages, the space stands out as a complete and innovative option to enjoy leisure time. In November 2022, the SESI Lab will celebrate another successful year, attracting thousands of visitors to its 8,000 square meters.
SESI Lab: 100% Interactive Museum and Multifunctional Space
Even without ticket charges, however, it is necessary to issue tickets on Sympla or at the museum’s physical box office. During the free admission season, the operating hours will remain the same: Tuesday to Friday, from 9 AM to 6 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 AM to 7 PM. The SESI Lab café and concept store will operate on the same days and hours as the museum’s activities.
The SESI Lab Tunnel: Multifunctional Space with Free Programming
With the inauguration of the SESI Lab in November 2022, Brasília gained a multifunctional space with free entry, a 6.1 sound system, and digital projection. The SESI Lab tunnel is a gift for residents and tourists, providing programming for all ages, ranging across different genres and experiments. During this special holiday programming period, the location will host the project ‘Cine Curtas’, with screenings on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 5 PM.

Diverse Programming for All Ages
The cultural attractions occur every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in January and on the first weekend of February. On the other days, the museum will be open for visitation. Entry will be allowed up to one hour before closing time on all days. Cinematographic Programming and Theatrical Shows
The cinematographic programming in the tunnel is curated by Glauce Pena Santos, in collaboration with the Cultural Programming team of the museum. The selected animations for projection stimulate reflections on science, innovation, and technology in everyday life. Among the chosen films are shorts from Pixar, the Brazilian series ‘Anima Criança: Lendas Brasileiras’, among others. The feature film ‘Minhocas’, the first stop motion film made in Brazil, is also included in the screening list. On Saturday and Sunday mornings, at 11 AM, the space will host theatrical shows.
Interactive Workshops and Educational Activities
Interactive workshops and educational activities will be offered for all ages. Workshops are held at 11 AM and 4 PM on Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays, they take place at 11 AM, 3 PM, and 4 PM. Exceptionally during this period, the Maker Space will not host editions of the Maker Livre project. Activities exploring the exhibition galleries and the games ‘Sensory Memory’, ‘Who Am I?’, ‘Knowledge Hunt’, and ‘The Weight You Carry’ will also be offered.
About SESI Lab and Its Facilities
Since its inauguration in November 2022, more than 250,000 visitors have experienced the 100% interactive museum. The iconic building designed by Oscar Niemeyer during the construction of Brasília is now a hub for art, science, technology, and education for all ages. The space is an initiative of the Social Service of Industry (SESI), in partnership with the National Service for Industrial Training (SENAI), promoting the connection between artistic, scientific, and technological actions, in collaboration with industry and society. SESI Lab has about 8,000 square meters of constructed area dedicated to exhibition spaces, creative and maker spaces, interdisciplinary rooms, an 84-square-meter LED panel, a café, and a concept store.
