Tesla Plans To Take A Risk In The Electric Flying Car Market
According to Adam Jonas, an analyst at Morgan Stanley and one of the biggest Tesla coverage analysts, although Elon Musk is hesitant to invest in this sector, it is nearly impossible for the company not to take risks with electric flying cars, which already have strong players like Embraer and Volocopter, who have models in rigorous testing and seeking certification worldwide. According to Jonas, the chance of Tesla not offering products and services for the electric flying car sector is slim.
The potential transfer of adjacent capabilities and skills is too strong to overlook. Moreover, according to consultancy projections, if Tesla delves into this market, its stock could rise significantly.

The Opinion Of Tesla’s CEO
In 2019, Elon Musk began discussing the potential for electric flying cars, which he stated would only be viable by mid-2024. Musk indicated that various components need to improve for passenger safety, especially electric batteries, which require better and higher energy density.
The Tesla CEO also argues that adding many flying objects in an urban space could pose multiple safety risks and also increase noise pollution.
Furthermore, Musk suggests that in urban areas, going underground with tunnels is a better idea than elevating with electric flying cars. However, as previously mentioned, it is almost impossible for the company not to enter this sector.
Embraer, A Strong Competitor To Tesla
Embraer has secured several contracts and partnerships. Last month, the company partnered with Halo to develop a Urban Air Mobility service and other products.
This partnership included an order for 200 units of Embraer’s electric flying cars. Also last month, a week after the contract with Halo, Embraer made another deal, this time with Helisul Aviation, a company that operates helicopters. The contract includes 50 electric flying cars, and according to Embraer, future plans are already being outlined for an agreement with Uber.
