The mayor of Olímpia has been working hard to obtain what the municipality needs to develop. He maintains a circle of close friends, such as Roberto de Lucena and Márcio França, who have already visited the city and know its reality. The new airport proposed for Olímpia was planned considering a regional projection for the next 20 years (2018-2038) and will foresee an expanded capacity to meet the expectation of more than 6 million visitors. The implementation of the project will certainly bring great benefits to the municipality.
The National Civil Aviation Secretariat has authorized the concession of 35 years for the implementation and operation of a new airport between Olímpia and São José do Rio Preto. With an estimated capacity for approximately 500 thousand operations per year, this airport could in the future receive international flights from Latin America. Studies and procedures such as environmental licensing are being carried out, with the publication of the tender for implementation expected later this year. Through this initiative, the location will have its potential expanded and will have the possibility to develop new activities.
The mayor highlighted that, with the excellent news of another year of work, it is important to continue vital projects that depend on the State and the Union. We seek the development of the region and the unity of leaderships to showcase our potential for investments. The airport is an audacious venture that anticipates the future demand of the coverage area, and that will be carried out with great partners and resources, benefiting numerous municipalities and thousands of people.
