Oceana Shipyard in Itajaí (SC) will stage the shipbuilding of Tamandaré Class Frigates for the Brazilian Navy and hiring should start soon
According to Portal Defesa TV, the recruitment and selection of professionals for the construction of the Tamandaré Class Frigates of the Brazilian Navy should start soon at the shipyard in Itajaí, Santa Catarina. It is estimated that the first Frigate will be ready in 2024 and more than 2 direct jobs and 6 indirect jobs will be created in the region, leveraging shipbuilding in the state.

In August, the Brazilian Navy's Naval Project Management Company (Emgepron) held the inauguration of its base allocated in Itajaí, Santa Catarina. The company will be responsible for preparing and executing the construction project for the Tamandaré Class ships (frigates) at the Oceana shipyard.
The contract for the shipbuilding of four vessels at the Oceana shipyard was signed by the Brazilian Navy and the Águas Azuis consortium, which includes Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems, Embraer and Atech. The project is valued at more than 6 billion reais, with expectations of generating 2 direct jobs and around 6 indirect jobs at peak production.

The city of Itajaí (SC) being the stage for Brazilian shipbuilding
Itajaí is already nationally recognized as the shipbuilding capital and should soon become a reference in Latin America. The city of Santa Catarina is the first in the country to receive a contract in the military area from the Federal Government. Investments amount to R$ 9,1 billion and the project will be carried out at the Oceana shipyard.
The German multinational Thyssenkrupp also has an office in Itajaí and is already putting together its team of leaders, hiring professionals from different areas, including some already working in the development of shipbuilding for frigates.
